Mykel Larrin Jumps and Races in Richmond, VA

Charles Luiting

Richmond BMX track in Virginia was the host for the Rumble in Richmond and the Flat Pedal Pro/Am Open – and what an action-packed weekend it was!

Mongoose pro Mykel Larrin made the journey out to compete in both events!
Saturday started with a kids jam over at the pump track. Steve Crandall and Nate Hanger from RadShare were on site stoking the kids up and giving out goodies including Mongoose helmets. After the Kids Jam the Rumble in Richmond started and some incredible riding went down!

This event was reminiscent of events from the 90’s. You had spectators right up to the jump yelling and cheering everyone on and the jump itself was a single big jump that the riders had to pedal their hardest to clear!

Mykel made it to the finals and threw down some stylish moves like a super clicked 360 lookback, an incredibly stretched superman seatgrab and his original griz backflip! Mykel walked away with an impressive 2nd and a huge grin on his face.

Here is what Mykel said; “The Rumble in Richmond was such an awesome event this weekend. It was a privilege joining efforts with RadShare to build the community through bmx. Great people, conversations and riding. Looking forward to the next one...BMX is safe and well!”

The next day the Flat Pedal Pro/Am Open was taking place. Mykel has done a few races in the past but the problem was he only had his freestyle bike with him so his gearing was off and his gate starts were not the best but that didn’t keep him from having fun! On the last jump for each of his motos Mykel did crowd pleasing tricks that got everyone stoked! There was also more racing going on and the Mongoose sponsored Hooligan team was out in full effect representing the brand to the fullest.

Both these events were great and watching the countless smiles on everyone’s face cemented that this was a weekend to remember!
