From major product launches and stoke-fueled events, to jaw-dropping athlete edits and podium finishes, Mongoose had a lot to be thankful for in 2022.
The year started off with a bang with addition of 2x Olympian Brooke Crain to the roster, followed by the launch of Kevin Peraza’s new video edit A Day in the Life, along with the release of his signature frame La Familia V2 – and it never slowed down from there.
Mongoose launched several high-profile products in 2022, highlighted by none other than the Motomag III – the third generation of the most iconic BMX wheelset in history. The Motomag III, along with other Classics like the Miniscoot II and the Supergoose, were gobbled up by fans throughout the year, proving once again that retro is alive and well. The biggest surprise to fans was our first collab with Vans on a special edition Mongoose X Vans footwear collection.
Mongoose athletes continued to inspire fans on a global scale at events such as UCI, FISE, and X Games. 21-year-old BMX race-pro Cam Wood enjoyed a breakout year in 2022, winning his first UCI World Cup race in Bogota, and capping the year by becoming Mongoose’s first pro racer in over 20 years to win the Greatest Race on Earth, USA BMX Grand Nationals in Tulsa.
Nikita Ducarroz continued her winning ways on the BMX freestyle side in 2022, taking an impressive Second Place in overall UCI points for pro women.
Our BMX freestyle team also continued our annual Jam event by hosting the very first all-dirt version – the Mongoose Dirtvana Jam. The Jam, which was held at Riveter Bike Park in North Carolina, welcomed BMX and MTB riders from all over to ride with the pros and win prizes.
We ended the year strong with some amazing video edits from Mykel Larrin in Pure Intentions, as well as Greg Watts and Josh Hult in Weekend Warriors. Both of which should be on your must-watch list.
It was an unforgettable year, and special thanks to our amazing riders, ambassadors, and partners, namely the USA BMX Foundation, as well as our retailers and international distributors. And most importantly, thanks to YOU and our fans for all your support in making 2022 one for the record books.
