USA BMX Fall Nationals at the legendary Rock Hill BMX Supercross Track in Rock Hill, SC, is always a special event for the Mongoose pro team – both on and off the track!
Before the massive 3-day race commenced, our Mongoose riders Mason Hayes, Payton Ridenour and Cam Wood spent some time visiting some local elementary and middle school students on behalf of the USA BMX Foundation to get them stoked on BMX and all things STEM education.
Mason started the visits with a trip to Fort Mill BMX Club, where he spent time talking through his training and teaching some BMX skills to local middle schoolers. A few days later, all three Mongoose riders joined forces to visit Cherry Park Elementary School to share their training and BMX competition experiences with 5th grade students. Of course, the students and faculty were especially interested to hear about how Cam and Payton were training for a potential spot on Team USA for Paris 2024.
Obviously the school visits must have inspired our riders, as they had a monster weekend at the race track! Mason kicked off the racing at Rock Hill BMX with a big win on Friday night! Cam also continued his impressive return with a podium in the Elite Men's main.
Both Payton and Cam landed on the podium on Saturday in their respective Pro mains, and capped off the amazing week with wins on Sunday! This marked the second time this year that Cam and Payton won Men's and Women's Elite on the same day! Congrats to our team for their amazing performances representing Mongoose both on and off the track!
