Mongoose BMX pro Cam Peake was set to go to South Africa for Ultimate X, and then Covid-19 struck and shut everything down! Luckily Cam was able to travel to France to be with his family before the country went on lockdown, but they have some pretty strict rules in place so it's been really tough for him to get out to ride. But with a little ingenuity, Cam made some things happen and was able to get back on his bike. We caught up with Cam to see what else he's been up to during the quarantine:
So, what have you been doing with yourself to keep busy at home?
Cam: I've been playing the PlayStation to pass the time and watching films and messing about with my SWEETS KENDARMA. Going from riding my bike every day to nothing because of the lockdown was really hard, so me and my dad built this quarter to stop me from going mad, ha-ha.
What do you miss most about BMX right now?
Cam: Being on my bike, travelling, contests and seeing my mates.
What are you looking forward to most when everything returns back to normal?
Cam: Riding, Freedom & KFC ha-ha!
Can you go out and ride your bike?
Cam: Too many people were going on group rides together, so we are banned from any cycling. Paris has a curfew on exercise during the day. It’s banned between 10am - 7pm.
We are in the south in the countryside and only allowed to exercise up to 1km from home for 1hr maximum and have to take a signed certificate with personal details on it. Its mad!
Any advice for people trying to find something to do to pass the time?
Cam: Add me on PlayStation: Cam_P23 ha-ha!
