Kevin Peraza Continues Dream Year with NORA Cup Win
Mongoose BMX pro Kevin Peraza has been on a roll this year! He became a dad for the first time earlier this year, won a bunch of medals at X Games in California, and now Kevin took home the 2024 NORA Cup for Transition Rider of the Year!
Kevin won his first NORA in 2016 for the Number One Dirt rider, and won his second NORA six years later landing 2022 Number One Transition Rider. This past weekend, after finishing 2nd place in the team competition during the Battle of Hastings event, Kevin took home his 3rd NORA Cup! It was a well-deserved win for Kevin, who looks at transitions so much different than most riders. A huge CONGRATS to Kevin – this one is extra special as it's your first NORA Cup as a dad!
The NORA (Number One Rider Award) is a prestigious award with different categories given out once a year. When the NORA Cup started in 1979 by BMX Action Magazine it was focused on BMX racing. The freestyle category came to be in 1985 with Freestyln’ Magazine. Sadly in 1991, with those magazines ending, the NORA Cup was no more. That is, Until RIDE BMX/Snap BMX resurrected it in 1997. Well, when Ride stop their magazine in 2019, and Ryan Fudger founded Our BMX a year later he continued the NORA cup tradition.
