How did you find BMX? How old were you?
I was about 13 and my parents bought me a new bike. I had seen some BMX on TV and wanted to try it out. So I went to the local skate park that had just been built and never looked back.

What do you love most about BMX?
You can push your own limits at your own pace

What do you like least about BMX?
That it’s not yet respected as a “sport” in the eyes of society

Best place BMX has taken you?
Overseas, every new country is a new experience so there is no best.

Worst place BMX has taken you?
Probably layovers in airports….especially ones in excess of seven hours.

If you could only ride at one place forever, where would it be?
A vert ramp because I know if it was at a skate park I might get bored of the setup but with a vert ramp it’s like that anyway so I think I can be more imaginative.

What riders have influenced you the most?
Aside from Mirra and Hoffman, I would say Jamie Bestwick, Tim Wood.

What are your interests outside of riding?
Guitar, Surfin/Boogin, Cars, Motorbikes, Golf. Trampolining, Gymnastics

Who were your heroes as a kid?
Before I started riding, Footy Players/ Aus. Olympic Gymnasts. When I started riding, Mirra/ Hoffman

Who are your heroes now?
Still Mirra and Hoffman, Bestwick, and people that I ride with a lot that push themselves and me to progress.

If you could ride with anyone who would it be?
Mat Hoffman

If you weren’t into BMX, what would you be involved in?
I would probably still be a Gymnast or a Footy player.

What is your favorite music/band/artist?
It changes depending what mood I’m in. I like Rage Against the Machine, ACDC, Metallica, Hilltop Hoods, and Butterfingers

What is your favorite color?
Red

What is your favorite food?
Chocolate

What is the last thing you spend more than $100 on?
Plane ticket

When was the last time you were seriously scared?
When I crashed and I didn’t know how bad I had injured myself

What was your first bike set up and how has it changed?
First bike that I ever took to a skate park was a Mongoose Sniper 02 model. I’ve had a few different setups over the years but pretty much changed to a Mongoose frame with aftermarket parts, two pegs, gyro and slick tires.

What is one thing that people might not know about you?
I used to be a gymnast.

If you won $500 million dollars today – what would you do with it?
Invest it in companies and a house so that I could live and ride for as long as my body physically lets me.

One place you have to see before you die.
There’s too many, I want to see as many places as I can.

Best advice you’ve ever been given.
There’s far too much advice I have been given and have been good throughout my life so I can’t pick one piece of advice.

If you could back into time and do one thing over – what would it be?
Realize that I liked BMX more than just a hobby – sooner!

Peanut or Regular M&M’s?
Peanut

Favorite Movie?
Wanted or Ocean’s 11/12/13 - too hard to decide.

What’s one thing you always take with you when you travel?
Music dispenser

Any advice for the young ‘uns coming into BMX?
Ride for the thrill of riding and having the freedom to do what you want on your bike. Nothing else. Friends will come through it and are a massive part of it, as are competitions/jams events but do not let them tell you what you should or shouldn’t do on your bike.

What was the worst car you ever owned?
Haha I’ve only owned one and it still works….we’ll see for how long

If you could meet any celebrity, who would it be and why?
Mystery, not because he can get any girl he wants haha, but because he has the ability to help you realize why you are you and should be proud of it.
