I really love now when I show up at the USA BMX Freestyle events that people come up to me and say how much they love the Mongoose Am Jams that take place the Friday before the main event. It’s nice to have an event that is all about fun, and one that you can really show off your skills and push yourself.
This Jam was at Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania outside at the new Town Center. This course is part pump track, street and park – and a whole lot of fun! We started the Jam with the 10 and under. I led a train around the pump track, then got into some good ol' foot-down, before ending with a step-up session.
After that we had an 11-14 session where I showed them an old-school wheel balance trick, and the last one left balancing won some grips. Then we moved into the step-up jam where the riders got to throw-down some awesome tricks!
The final jam was 15 and over, and they all just wanted to do the step-up jam so that's what we did. It was 15 minutes of non-stop action with some incredible moves that the top pros would have been stoked on!
After a bunch of high-fives, the Jam wound down and everyone went to go rest before the main contest the next day! Hit up the USA BMX Freestyle Instagram account to see all that action!
This weekend we'll be at the Railyard in Rogers, Arkansas, to host another Am Jam with Bentonville Bike Fest, so come out and ride with Nikita Ducarroz, Kevin Peraza and Matty Cranmer.
